Very Low temperature scanning tunneling microsopy/spectroscopy
Welcome
In this research group we study highly correlated materials such as the high temperature superconductors (high-Tc), ruthenates, manganates, etc...
The technique we use is scanning tunneling microscopy. It allows to see the atoms at the surface of samples. Combinning it with scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS) we obtain information on the local spatial and energy structure of the electrons. In strongly correlated materials the electrons can reorganise at a very small scale and this technique of STM/STS is a powerfull tool to explore these materials.
