The conference is getting started today! The abstracts are available in the sidebar on the left, and here’s the link again [pdf] to save you a click. We’ll save some trees and only print a few copies of the abstracts, since most people will have computers. Everybody will get a copy of the schedule though.
The website has recently been updated – you can now find a detailed schedule, and the list of participants (including roommate information).
The conference date is approaching very quickly. Hopefully everyone’s talks are almost ready, and you’re looking forward to CONFETI 2012!
Thanks to everyone who registered for the conference – it looks like it will be an interesting one!
Due to the high turnout, we won’t be able to officially extend the abstract submission deadline – however, we would be able to accommodate up to two more people on a first-come-first-served basis. Please register ASAP if you are still interested, since we would like to confirm our numbers with the hotel.
We’ll release more details about the conference organisation soon. Stay tuned!
Just a reminder that the abstract submission and registration deadline is less than a week away, on Thursday December 1.
I’ve already received a bunch of abstracts, and it looks like we’ll have some really nice talks. You should have heard back from me if you submitted an abstract or registered already, so let me know if you didn’t get a reply back.
I hope to see those abstracts piling up in my inbox within the next week!
Once again, there will be prizes for the best introduction and special topic talks this year! These prizes are generously sponsored by RECSUS, the science graduate student’s society at the Université de Sherbrooke.
So, submit your abstract and start preparing those slides and practising your talk now!
Welcome to the website for the 2012 edition of the INTRIQ student conference!
We’re very excited to announce that the INTRIQ student conference (CONFETI) will be held January 11-13, 2012 at a new venue: Estrimont Suites & Spa in Orford! As usual, there will be interesting talks, great company and opportunities to get out on the slopes or trails.
The hotel, food and transportation are paid for by INTRIQ, but you’ll have to pay for your own ski tickets and any alcoholic beverages.
Registration is now open. You must give a talk in order to attend, unless you have a very good reason not to (mostly just if you only started your Master’s in the last 4 months). Either way, sign up here on the website before *** December 1 ***.
Here are some great reasons to attend:
- Get to know other students working in quantum information and related fields in Quebec
- Practise your talk before taking it to a big conference
- Boost your CV
- Ask all your questions that you’re afraid to ask when professors are around!
- There’s a great ski hill, cross country and snowshoeing trails, and (due to the new venue) all kinds of hot tubs, saunas, outdoor pool etc. Check out the links on the sidebar!
Please contact Ben (schmidtb at physics dot mcgill dot ca) if you have any questions, and we look forward to seeing you in January!
