Université de Sherbrooke

Located in beautiful student-friendly Sherbrooke, the Université de Sherbrooke offers a rare blend of nature and city life. Those splendid settings are the theater of major scientific developments and research opportunities. In 2014, Université de Sherbrooke has been ranked 2nd in terms of research impact among french-speaking institutions worldwide, and 1st among French-speaking institutions in Canada, according to the international CWTS Leiden Ranking. Since 2015, the Université de Sherbrooke also holds the Quebec Chair for Women in Science and Engineering.

An important catalyst of innovation in Sherbrooke has been the obtention of the prestigious Canada First Grant in 2015 by a research team composed of professors from the Physics Department and Engineering Faculty at Université de Sherbrooke. This 33,5 M$ grant has led to the creation of the Institut Quantique, which gathers experts with worldwide recognition in the fields of quantum information, quantum materials, and development of quantum technology. The Institut Quantique is now investing in an unparalleled multidisciplinary approach to the formation of its students, and proceeding to a large number of enrollments at the master, doctoral, postdoctoral, and faculty stages.
